Mini-Bucker in 4 unique flavors - Now available.

Replaces Soapbar P-90's when ordered with our Soapbar Shroud.

Regular mini-humbuckers have small headless pole screws which don't align with the strings over the neck pickup ... and it's important they do since their small size projects an un-forgiving narrow magnetic field.  Ours aligns perfectly thanks to our exclusive 47.5mm pole spread, and ... it just looks way way better too.  We make ours also in 50mm and 53mm so string-over-pole alignment is perfect in all positions, regardless of type of bridge.

We found solutions to all known issues in our huge box of Electrical Engineering and architectural / engineering innovations and the mini has now taken it’s place alongside the other wonderfully expressive and beautifully made humbuckers in the Kinman collection.  Our Mini-humbucker range sounds unlike any other Mini-humbucker so don’t be misled by it’s small size because our unique and Patented technology has turned it into a highly dynamic and very loud voiced, astounding little package of dynamite that punches way above it's size. 

We spent 4 intensive months re-designing and refining our Mini-bucker in order to solve the annoying little issues of these compacted humbuckers as well as expanding it's versatility.  All component parts are specially made and are high precision, even our domed-top headless pole screws are made of a tougher steel so the slots keep their shape.  We have mounting kits for Ring or Pickguard mounting as well as much improved LP Deluxe Soapbar mounting shroud in Cream and Black when replacing P-90's (scroll to see pictures).  Yes sir, we are justifiably proud of our little wonder and you will certainly get more sonic bang and enjoyment for your buck.

All models can have optional switching between Heavy and Lite humbucker mode and the Little Ripper model has additional optional (ESSC**) split single coil -or- smokey Jazz humbucker mode.  These models include a Push/Push control for each mode (2 control for both modes from the same pickup) when ordered with the options .... we did say we engineered a lot of versatility into these stimulating little packages.

**ESSC is Enhanced Split Single Coil and it's loud and convincingly P-90/Fender-ish.  It's also available on our 59+ LPS and 2n1 humbuckers.  Scroll to the Technical & Application Info section (below) for interesting and useful info.

Little Ripper multi sound - Zero-Hum 

• Heavy:  2 rows of 6 domed headless screw poles.  Clear and well defined dynamic growl for the bridge position and beyond excellent feel.  This little monster is great for Heavy Rock, Metal, Blues and anything that uses growl or hi gain, and Zero microphonic feedback.  However it sounds pretty darn nice at low clean volume as well.
• Lite:  Single row of 6 domed headless pole screws.  A really fun little monster.  Delightfully bouncy, sweet n chirpy Fender-ish attack, presence and highs .... and even more dynamic and louder and clearer than some of our full sized humbuckers.  Extremely well behaved in the neck position, absolutely no slop or messy bass side sounds ... and definitely no mud either.  Makes you wanna play and keep on playing and exploring it's new sonic horizons.  Good for neck and also for bridge positions.  Delightful and unusual combined sounds when mixed with our Strat Impersonator E56.  Wonderful clean and dirty sounds.
• Split single coil (**ESSC non-noiseless).  Quite the P-90/Fender-ish sound, bright, twangy, spanky, loud and clear.
• All of the above is available in one switchable pickup if so desired.

Little Terror in the bridge with Zero-Hum

• 2 rows of 6 domed headless screw poles.  This is a real fun little monster if you love super crunch & growl.  Hell it sounds gooood, so dynamic and has terrific feel too.  All strings, top and bottom, break into crunch so easily, without Fx devices and like a Ferrari it just wants to get up and go ... it's so exciting.  Know what you're thinking, the plain strings have a ragged spikey sound like ceramic magnets, right?  Wrong!!!  like the thoroughbred they are they're sweet as ..... but ..... have all the cut and bite you'd ever want.  And talk about Super sustain!  Like the old David and Goliath story it puts bigger old fashioned super distortion humbuckers to shame, makes them sound lame.  Check out our 'Big Little Terror' standard sized humbucker too, same everything, just a different size.

• 53mm bridge pickups with vintage Stratocaster bridge
• 50mm bridge pickup for all other bridges -and- neck pickup with vintage Stratocaster bridge
• 47.5mm neck pickup with all other bridges.  Has our exclusive CLCT technology that restores the performance that is lost when poles are spaced closer together.

Mounting hardware (included)

• Two 3-48 UNC mounting screws.  Phillips drive and countersunk domed head.  Can be driven into cavity floor or into our mounting plate, below.
• Silicon rubber tube springs.
• Three 3-48 UNC mounting screws when the recommended three screw option is indicated.  See next point.

Optional mounting hardware

• 2 screw Adapter (8mm between screws) for mounting in a 3 screw-hole Ring or pickguard.  See image below.
• Soapbar Mounting Shroud.  Our system provides improved rigidity, it's not rickety and sloppy.
  • You must include our shrouds when installing into a Gibson LP Deluxe that already has Soapbar P-90 pickups.
  • Use preferably with Non-Magnetic Mounting Plate, below.
  • Includes Mounting screws, tubular spacers and tube springs (no bothersome soldered nuts, like Gibson uses, are required).

Soapbar mounting shroud (rings)

• Non-magnetic mounting plate kit replaces Gibson plate when installed.  Does not distort the magnetic field or impact on sonic or hum cancelling performance.  Use with the P-90 Soapbar mounting shroud (above).

• Robust single wires for soldering, requires effective shielding in wiring tunnels to prevent electrical buzz

Cover options

• Polished Nickel-Silver.  Best sonic performance and immunity to feedback screech.  Suitable for relic-ing and deliberate aging
  • Will lose it's mirror-like polish naturally in a few months unless you maintain it with occasional application of clear liquid guitar polish
• Gold plated with real Gold which has magnetic Nickel plating under the gold so expect a slight loss of performance and slight susceptibility to feedback screech under extremely high gain
• With and without Kinman logo
• Is suitable for standard Minibucker mounting rings.

Pot & Capacitor values

• Best with 500k Ohm volume pot. 
• Tone pot is usually the same value as the volume pot or 1meg or No-Load.
• Normal tone cap value of 0.022uF, 63 ~ 100 volt Polyester.  Smaller uF value lessen the severity of Treble cut, higher values increase it.
  • The voltage rating of Caps is not important but 63 ~ 100 volt have thicker lead wires that make a better job.

Output Polarity: 

• in-phase with all other Kinman pickups
• in-phase with Gibson and Copy humbuckers
• opposite phase to Fender Strat

We highly recommend consulting the Install Guide in the Technical section even if you think you know it all.  Kinmans' require specialized knowledge and sometimes there is updated info.  There is also a handy wiring diagram available with extra functionality switching options.
